Additional Instructions

One of the tougher 300s, climbing up to Mahabaleshwar, before descending to Satara by Medha Ghat. Please check brakes before starting the descent. And watch out for scree on the turns.

Welcome to the picturesque Western Ghats or the glorious Sahayadris. The route commences from Pune and heads south over khambatki Ghat on the NH4. At Wai phata one turns down a country road to head up Pasarni Ghat for Panchgani Mahabaleshwar hillstations and will feel the cool of the coming winter. From Mahabaleshwar one turns down the dramatic and lovely Medha ghat for Satara, where one turns to head back towards Pune on the NH4.

Road Conditions - From Pune to Shirwal (50 kms) there are tbad road sections where the highway is under construction and the service roads are bad. Then between Panchgani and Mahabaleshwar there are short patches of very bad road!
