As rightly said by the great cyclists riding a bike not only brings out perseverance, enthusiasm and the urge to experience the best of nature but also train to be disciplined integrity and courage to overcome all the fears. A big shout to all the endurance cyclists to take on the nature and prove their girth.
The Gates of heaven is a 1200 km BRM run by Bangalore Randonneurs in association with AIR (Audax India Randonneurs) & LRM (Les Randonneurs Mondiaux) This rides take you on a roller coaster ride across the three southern states i.e. Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Kerala, cutting through the exquisite country side , climbs on the colossal hills of Yeracaud, Nilgiris, Wayanad, Coorg, Sakleshpur, Chickmangalur. These are some winding and deadly rolling terrain with an overall elevation gain of 13000 mtrs.

Be ready to take a plunge into the reserve forest and the wildlife sanctuary and experience the nature at its best, be ready to get drenched in the rains, cruising through wind tunnels and fight the scorching sun while you get acquainted with the topsy turvy rolls of the road. As you endure this ride you can’t miss the rusty and magnetic aroma of the coffee and tea and also savor the local authentic country side food that keeps you going and fuel up to conquer the hills as you pass through the estates with the most mesmerizing and astounding beauty of nature one can explore.

Gates of Heaven (GOH) is Bangalore Signature 1200KM BRM ride run by Bangalore Randonneurs to be completed in 90 hours. The rides runs across the southern states of India, Karnataka, TN & Kerala across country side villages and hill ranges of Yeracud, Nilgiris, Wayanad, Coorg, Sakleshpur, Chickmagaluru with highly rolling terrain and scenic nature to keep you company along wildlife sanctuary and reserve forests with coffee & tea estates.

Rough Estimate of the GOH - Trail

First 100 kms down hill from Bangalore towards Krishnagiri

Next 100 will be a good rolling terrain with a few kms steep downhill and then a 21kms uphill to Yerkad
This is gradual climb of 1600mtrs

Next 165 kms downhill from Yerkad and rolling on Highway to Tirupur.

Here starts the 2300mtrs the big climb to Ooty a wonderful scenic road but you will be climbing in the night hours.
